Coney Island

Commissioned to drive the creative vision and develop the masterplan in conjunction with Callison architects during the revitalization of this historic Brooklyn destination, Thinkwell reimagined the beloved entertainment icon as a mixed-use development that was a modern reincarnation of the original, featuring an all-season amusement park, an indoor waterpark, and hotel.

By mixing fantastic new attractions with Coney’s legendary, gritty spontaneity, Thinkwell created something exciting for new and old fans alike, while holding true to Coney Island’s authenticity.

iPort

This cutting-edge interactive indoor entertainment concept was created for Caesars Entertainment, Inc. for a massive new Singapore resort, in partnership with AEG Live Entertainment and Star TV, the largest satellite provider in Asia.

This one-million-square-foot, 16-story, state-of-the-art facility showcases an assortment of renowned global intellectual properties with more than a dozen major attractions, immersive rides, and groundbreaking shows, along with unique dining and retail experiences that are attractions unto themselves, redefining the meaning, design, and planning paradigms of “indoor theme parks” with radical new thinking and bleeding-edge technology.

High1 Water Park

In collaboration with architecture firm Gansam and aquatic design firm Water Technology, Inc., we participated in a water park design competition for Kangwon Land’s High1 Resort in Gangwon Province, Korea.

Set high atop the mountains, the popular Korean resort destination, which features a ski resort, hotels, a casino, a country club, and a convention center, was looking for something truly special to enhance its existing visitor offerings. With compelling storytelling and highly immersive theming, we designed a world-class water park and spa set in a lush and mysterious aquatic kingdom, complete with bizarre plant life, strange temples, and gorgeous remnants of fabled lost city.

We created an unparalleled array of indoor and outdoor attractions that celebrate the wonder of water and immerse guests from day to night and summer to winter in a strange and bewitching landscape of natural beauty.

Dinosaur Valley

In 2008, one of the most astounding paleontological discoveries in history was made just outside of Zhucheng, China—a huge collection of over 7,600 fossils from the Cretaceous era, larger in scope and scale than had ever been found in one place before.

Inspired by this incredible, one-of-a-kind discovery, we designed a concept that combines premier resort amenities, high-tech interactive exhibits, and immersive theme park storytelling within an engaging and awe-inspiring educational environment that brings the world of dinosaurs to life. Fusing real science with fantastic entertainment, we have created a unique new destination resort that enlivens, entertains, and inspires through edutainment.

Robotland

Robotland is a celebration of robotic achievements—a tribute to the past, present, and future of robotic innovation in all forms.

Robotland explores the connection between man and machine in every way imaginable—from the functional to the playful to the fantastical—in an effort to emphasize and truly celebrate the harmony found in that relationship.

Robotland has a distinct mix of shows, attractions, and immersive environments, giving it a completely unique look.

Magical Lands of Oz

This immersive 300-acre destination resort draws on the rich traditions of L. Frank Baum’s world-famous Oz books, and includes a state-of-the-art theme park, uniquely themed hotels, convention center, shopping, dining, and retail all in the spirit and character of these classic stories.

Thinkwell, in a partnership with Oz Central LLC and in association with Kirk Design Inc., was tasked with master planning, attraction design and production, as well as overall character and brand development for this iconic new destination.

Kingdom of the Wild

Kingdom of the Wild features two exotic gated attractions: an updated and enhanced zoo (formerly the Ankara City Zoo) and a theme park based on fantastical creatures and dinosaurs.

The zoo combines live animal habitats interwoven with amazing rides, shows, and attractions while the theme park boasts spectacular live stunt shows, custom dark rides, and other unique attractions.

Songya Lake: The Star of Changsha

Inspired by the history of the Hunan region in Changsha, China, this one-of-a-kind destination resort offers families a bit of local history, culture, romance, and adventure.

As guests explore a series of themed districts around a massive natural lake, they will be able to spend an afternoon, a whole day, or the entire weekend immersed in a constellation of unique family entertainment, inspired by the stars themselves, reflected in the calm waters of Songya Lake.

Aurora: Blackpool Revitalization

Spinning a fictional yarn about a long-forgotten mystical power source buried under the beaches at Blackpool, Thinkwell created this all-new, indoor-outdoor, year-round destination that combines retail, dining, and entertainment with rides, an indoor waterpark, and snow-play zone.

Infused with a retro-industrial, “steampunk” style, turn-of-the-century theme, this one-of-a-kind destination imagines a whole new story for the history of family entertainment in Blackpool.
