For MGM Grand Hotel’s Japanese restaurant, Shibuya, Thinkwell Studio Montréal used elements from the decor to produce two 35 minute videos and also created an integrated video display system for the space.

The main wall behind the sushi bar is made of hundreds of plexiglass tubes, some clear and others with a mirrored surface. Several screens were installed behind these modules, which allowed the team to play with opacity and display imagery of an underwater world with elements of the restaurant’s decor across the engaging wall. The effect is that the walls of Shibuya tell a story while subtly highlighting the amazing design work of Pushelberg.

This project was completed prior to Thinkwell’s acquisition of Réalisations-Montréal in 2019.  Réalisations-Montréal is now Thinkwell Studio Montréal.
