Now in it’s tenth year of touring North American museums, Sesame Street Presents: The Body heads to the Liberty Science Center in New Jersey!
JERSEY CITY — You may never get to stroll down the real Sesame Street, but Liberty Science Center is offering kids of all ages the next best thing — a hands-on exhibit from Jan. 24 through May 3.
“Sesame Street Presents: The Body” will feature a total of 17 child-friendly interactive activities to help kids learn about their bodies and how to keep them healthy. The exhibit is a replica of Sesame Street that features Elmo, Oscar, Grover, and the rest of Sesame Street’s characters.
To mark the opening of the exhibit, Elmo will make an appearance at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, and Sunday, Jan. 25.
The exhibit has a total of 17 activities, many of them hands-on experiences, spread out over three zones:
— “Your Outsides” features fun activities to help kids learn about body parts such as hands and feet;
— “Your Insides” helps kids learn about the heart, lungs, and other organs with activities like Count’s Organ Organ, Digestion with Oscar and Oscar’s Sneeze Machine;
— The “Staying Healthy” zone teaches kids what they need to do every day to lead a healthy lifestyle. This zone features Sesame Street staples like Mr. Hooper’s Store, Rosita’s Locomotion, Baby Bear’s Mini Mart and Rub-A-Dub Tub.
The exhibit is included in the museum’s general admissions price: $19.75 for ages 13 to 61, $16.75 for ages 62 and older, $15.75 for children 2 to 12 with museum members, and free for children under 2.
Liberty Science Center (LSC) is located in Liberty State Park in Jersey City, near the Statue of Liberty, and is dedicated to promoting the idea of being excited about science to people of all ages.
