A New Live Show Opens At Ferrari World

  • News

Best known for its thrilling attractions that send visitors along tracks at lightening speeds, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi has become a popular spot for visitors to Yas Island. Adding to its repertoire of fast-paced activities, they’ve recently launched a new live show that will appeal to both the thrill seekers and the more reserved members of the family. The new show is a world class example of integrated acts and live show design.
Red, Ferrari World’s newest live show, is 25 minutes worth of jaw-dropping acrobatics and thrilling dance routines. The big budget live show replaces the popular La Gara, a smaller budget show which has been running at Ferrari World since they opened their doors in 2010.
Ferrari World’s new show is designed by the world renowned theme park company Thinkwell, best known for their work on Dubai’s Snow Zone and the 2012 London Olympics. Drawing on inspiration from Italian director Federico Fellini’s distinct style, producers conceived a comedic boy-meets-girl story set in 1950s Italy. The heartwarming story line combined with action packed gymnastic and dance routines are sure to keep visitors coming back for repeat performances. In keeping with the theme of Ferrari World, there’s also a special appearance during the show by a rare Ferrari 250 GT and a Formula One Racer.
Thinkwell gathered some of their best talent for Red, including actors from seven countries across Europe. The majority of the 15 stars are trained gymnasts who have previous experience working in the entertainment industry. Polish natives and Acro Sports champions Angelina Kogot and Luisasz Misztela, are among some of the more experienced cast members, having worked for the well-known Cirque Éloize troupe for several years before coming on board for Red.
The change in shows comes amidst speculation that Ferrari World is suffering from poor visitor numbers, especially among Abu Dhabi residents. But according to Andy Keeling, Ferrari World Manager, things are actually going very well for the theme park and the change was due to the popularity of the park’s live shows with visitors. He has said that, “La Gara was successful, but it was done on a much smaller budget. But we found that our guests really enjoyed live shows, so we decided to go bigger and better…”
Whether the change is a result of poor visitor attendance or a simple desire to change things up for guests, one thing is for sure: Red is a spectacularly designed live show that is sure to draw the attention of many with its impressive stunts and timeless storyline. We expect that this show will fit right in amidst the fast-paced excitement that comes along with every visit to Ferrari World.
